From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover, comes the second book in a combustible new series, Welcome to the Point, that is sexier, darker, and better than ever.

There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who is bad. . . . Welcome to the Point.

In a dark and broken kingdom, a ruler has be fearless to control the streets and the ruthless people who run them. Race Hartman is just bold enough, just smart enough, and just lost enough to wear the crown. Places like The Point will always have bad things and bad people, but the man in control of all that badness can minimize the devastation. Race has a plan, but can he prevent total annihilation without destroying himself?

Brysen Carter has always seen the real Race—a guy too pretty, too smooth, and way too dangerous. Basking in his golden glow is very tempting, but Brysen knows she’ll eventually get burned. She has enough problems without the risky danger and mayhem that comes with a guy like Race. Too bad Brysen faces a threat close to home that might be more dangerous than anything The Point has ever produced.. And the only person interested in keeping her safe is the one man she can’t allow herself to have.

Sometimes being bold is the only way to stay alive. But can she let Race save her life...if it means losing herself to him?

Check out book #1 The Point Series: Better When He's Bad

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review!

What I say: I really loved book #1 Better When He's Bold so I expected big, dramatic, bad ass things from Better When He's Bold - Jay Crownover SO didn't disappoint with Race and Brysen's story.

The world building in Crownover's Welcome to the Point series is so great, that I found myself immersed in Race and Bax's dark and dangerous town. The dangerous and scary places of the Point leap off the page and help built an image of the seedy underworld and the people who run it.

If you've read Better When He's Bad (review here) you'll probably remember Race Hartman as Bax's friend and Dovie's brother. Handsome and clever, Race is one the new guys in charge of the Point. Race is an anti-hero who dwells in grey areas. He lives somewhere in between a criminal and devoted brother. He isn't a good guy but then he's not completely bad - Race is direct, daring and bold.

Brysen Carter (Dovie's friend) works hard to keep her dysfunctional family together. She's determined to stay away from Dovie's sexy older brother, because getting involved with a criminal like Race is the last thing she needs.

I enjoyed the banter between Race and Brysen, plus their chemistry was sizzling. When Bry finds herself in a bad situation Race takes it upon himself to help her. I liked how he took care of her and found his OTT protect moments kinda amusing. I initially thought they were very different but as the story developed it became clear they have more in common than expected. There are lots of hot and naughty scenes which are handled very differently to Bax and Dovie's in the previous book.

Even life at the top in the Point is a dangerous place to live because somebody is always looking to take your place. Race and Bax (and Nassir) have a battle on their hands to clean up the Point and keep everybody safe.

I had my suspicions about certain people and the ending was surprising to say the least - But it was oh-so-good! I'm REALLY looking forward to Titus's story up next and am excited to see how Crownover manages to handle a certain reappearance.

4.5 Stars in my Sky!
