I received a copy in exchange for an honest review!
What I say: I'm a huge, squeezing fangirl when it comes to anything remotely The Mighty Storm (TMS) related and I do love a spin off/second generation story, so it's a win-win with Finding Storm!
Being the spawn of a rock legend is a heavy burden to carry, add in the fact that he's an awesome musician in his own right but is constantly compared to his deceased father and the fact that key events from his past have been hidden from him for years, it's safe to say Storm is not in a good place when the story starts.
Stevie has suffered more than her fear share of misery but she's an extremely positive character, who is kind, generous and unique. As you can prob tell, I loved her! I appreciated the fact that she never tried to be anything other than her kooky self and is happy in her own skin. I wish I could be more like her!
As with all the TMS related books, music is almost like another character. With Storm, music is his life in both positive and negative ways, but really it's his release. For Stevie music is really important, just in a different way, but it is still a positive release for her. My musical tastes are definitely more aligned with Storm's than Stevie's, but I'll never be able to hear a Madonna song without thinking of this story. I also loved the family musician names - I'm from a family with a Stevie and Lynsey (yes a different spelling) so I smiled at the references.
I seem to have said a lot about Finding Storm without really going into the plot. This is because I don't want to spoil any of their story for you. I will say (not a spoiler) that it was fab to catch up with old favs!!! I'm hoping there will be lots more books in the series. I'd love to see the rest of Slater Raze get their own stories, as well as JJ, Billy, Belle etc at some point too. More please Sam!!!
4.5 Stars in my Sky!
FINDING STORM will only available on Kindle priced at $2.99 as a special release price; this is only for a few days, then the price will rise to $3.99. It's the only time it will be on sale. Also, it'll be free on Kindle Unlimited.
