2015 Book Blogger Love-a-Thon
February 21-22, 2015.
What’s your name? Zili Robins - Zili is a nickname for Lynsey.
Where in the world are you blogging from? England.
How did you get into blogging in the first place? I've always loved reading, writing and all things book related. I had been following a few blogs for a while and it was a natural progression to start posting my own reviews.
How did you come up with your blog name? I wanted a name which conveyed the power of getting lost in a story, of being taken into another world, but I didn't want it to be really obviously just book related (I ramble about movies, TV shows and Latin a lot as well and didn't want to be restricted). Flying, being up in the sky would be my ultimate superhero power, so I tied the two together. I went with Zili because Lynsey in the Sky sounded too similar to The Beatles song Lucy in the Sky (with diamonds).
What genre do you read and review the most on your blog? YA, NA & Adult contemporary, fantasy, historical, urban fantasy and paranormal. I don't like to be restricted by genre, although I don't really review religious fiction (I don't know enough about it), non-fiction or very young aged fiction.
What other types of posts do you do on your blog, apart from reviews? A pretty mixed bag from book blasts to cover reveals, giveaways to trailer launches and things like regular meme's (Waiting on Wednesday, Theme Friday, Tweet Me Tuesday etc), movie news and book sales. I also post random things I see online or want to talk about.
Best blogging experience so far? So many, but I love receiving emails, tweets or comments from other readers/bloggers telling me how they felt about a book recommendation.
Favorite thing about the blogging community? The support we give each other and being able to chat about our favourite books, authors and adaptations.
Name the 5 books you’re most excited for this 2015! Deep by Kylie Scott, Asa by Jay Crownover, Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee, The Shadows by J.R. Ward & Fall With Me by J Lynn/Jennifer L. Armentrout.
What’s an underrated book or series that you think everyone should read? Ooh that's a tough one but I really liked Genna Rulon's For You series. The series is not an easy read because it covers several upsetting issues and potential triggers, but I liked the message of hope Rulon includes and how tactfully she handles these issues. The series starts with Only For You.
Which book boy or girl would be your book BFF? You want me to pick just one? I can't do that but I can narrow it down a bit: Jake Wethers, Roth, Daemon, Cam Hamilton, Zsadist, Rule, Kellan, Kyland, Simon (Wallbanger) and Archer to name a few.
Pick out either a book you want turned into a film/TV show, or a film/TV show you want turned into a book. I'd love to see Joanna Wylde's Reaper's MC books, Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series or Jay Crownover's Marked Men made into a TV series or to have a Wallbanger movie! I heard a rumour that an Archer's Voice film may be on the way, which I REALLY hope is true.
