Ooh How Naughty....Mini Reviews: Line of Duty books 1 and 2 by Tessa Bailey

Mini reviews of Tessa Bailey's very adult hot cop series...

Protecting What's His: She’s running from the law, and the law wants her bad.

The opportunity was just too damn delicious for Ginger Peet to pass up. The purse full of money she finds—$50,000 to be exact—could give her and her teen sister the new start they need. So she grabs the cash, her gothy sibling, and their life-sized statue of Dolly Parton, and blows outta Nashville in a cloud of dust. Chicago, here we come...

Turns out, Chicago has some pretty hot cops. Hot, intense, naughty-lookin’ cops like Derek Tyler, who looks like he could eat a girl up and leave her begging for more. And more. Tempting as he is, getting involved with the sexy homicide lieutenant next door poses a teensy problem for a gal who’s on the lam. But one thing is certain—Derek’s onto her, and he wants more than just a taste.

And as far as he’s concerned, possession is nine-tenths of the law.

What I say: Right, well Derek Tyler is a 30 year old, police Leutenant who is all things possessive. He's also extremely sexy and has a really filthy mouth. Ginger (who by the way is not a redhead) is on the run from a horrible past and is desperate to give her younger sister a better life. As you can imagine getting involved with a cop is not high on her list of things to do...

This series is DEFO an adult one as it has lots of smutty scenes and dirty language. BUT if that's your thing or if your fancy a short escape from reality then give Derek a try.

His Risk To Take: The greater the risk, the hotter the reward…

Homicide cop Troy Bennett had a reputation on the Chicago PD for being fearless and in control—until the night his daredevil partner is killed during a raid. From that moment on, he swears he’ll never again be responsible for the loss of a loved one. To escape his demons, Troy transfers to the NYPD, bringing him up close and personal with Ruby Elliott, a beautiful, street-savvy pool hustler.

Reckless and stubbornly independent, Ruby embodies everything Troy’s avoiding, but when she walks into O’Hanlon’s Pub and blows his carefully laid plans to hell, Troy knows he has to have her—risks be damned. But there’s a connection between Ruby’s shadowed past and a case Troy’s working involving a notorious Brooklyn felon, throwing her safety into jeopardy. Confronted with his biggest fear, will Troy push Ruby away to keep her safe or fight to keep her in his arms where she belongs?

What I say: Troy has left Chicago (where book #1 was set) and has moved to New York where he meets sexy pool hustler Ruby. Ruby is working hard to change her life and escape from certain seedy elements. Troy instantly decides that Ruby will be his. Don't worry it's in a sexy possessive and not in a insta-love kinda way, although that does come soon.

Troy's dirty talk is even worse or better than Derek's (depending on your POV), but I found him more interesting than Derek. I have to say I preferred Ginger to Ruby but both ladies showed determination coupled with vulnerability. I'm not sure I would have put up with all of the 'I am a hot man, now hear me roar' that Derek and Troy had going on, but present me with a hot cop and we'll see...

I have been promised book #3 Officer Off Limits (Daniel's story) is the best in the series, I can't wait to read it. Uniform Dating anybody?
