She’s scarred by her past.
ANDREA EVANS is traumatized and guilt-ridden by the death of her fiancĂ©e. Tired of the gossiping small town, she travels to New York City to pursue her dream of dance. When her dreams don’t instantly come to fruition, she ends up working at a strip club with her best friend.

He’s uncertain of his future.
COOPER DAVIDSON is a famous photographer and reality television star trying to flee from his own life filled with paparazzi, mental health clinics, and a cheating wife who is pregnant.

When Andrea and Cooper’s paths cross, they realize how damaged and in need of escapism they both are. The two create an arrangement to explore the space in between chaos and order with one another. The rules are simple—no emotional connections, no talking about the past, no speaking of the future, and when one finds order, the other walks away.

All is well until Cooper falls in love with Andrea. Will Andrea open up and let someone else into her closed off heart? Can Cooper stop the tabloids and his crazed wife from exposing his past and painting Andrea as a prostitute to the world before her life spirals back down to the land of chaos?

What I say (review): Wow Brittany C. Cherry really takes the reader on an emotional journey in The Space In Between! Some parts are hilariously funny, whilst others are devastatingly sad.

The story is told from the dual POV of Andrea and Cooper. Andrea has fled to New York after the tragic death of her fiancé Derrick five months ago. She's messed up, devastated and struggling to cope. Cooper has left his cheating wife and cannot face being around her after she got pregnant by another man.

Andrea accidently finds herself working as a stripper-in-training (the idea of an accidental stripper in training cracks me up). Her first dance turns out to be for a depressed Cooper who was forced to go to the strip club by his manager. Oh did I mention Andrea and Cooper sort of knew each other years ago? Cooper's cousin is dating Andrea's Brother.

I won't give any more of the plot away, except to say I saw the Rachel storyline coming (sneaky witch). I was in hysterics at the Michelle, Eric, Ladasha development!

The secondary characters were brilliant. I think every girl deserves a bestie like Dasha; she was my favourite character by a mile! It was nice to see Cherry address the racial issues Dasha faced from the nosy busybodies in Andrea's hometown. I loved how Andrea and Eric put them all in their place! I really hope Dasha gets her own book?!

Some parts of the story were so sad and at times difficult to read. I always felt a sense of hope coming through everything though. I'd like my own Cooper if anybody wants to fed-ex him to the UK!? I also won't be able to think of soda-pop in quite the same way ever again!

4 Stars in my Sky!

My fav non-spoilery quotes:
  • Everything I knew about strippers involved drugs, sex, and Channing Tatum. Okay, well, two out of three weren't terrible but still.
  • "What if I can't be fixed?" I glanced to the floor panels and copied her finger movement along
  • the cracks. "Then we'll be broken together."
  • "And don't try to push me away because I'm like cockroaches in the ghetto. I'll keep popping up, unwelcome."

Author Spotlight: Brittany Cherry has been in love with words since the day she took her first breath. She lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her loved ones and loves a great romance. The Space In Between is her debut novel and she looks forward to the world being able to read it!  Other hobbies that she loves to take part in are writing screenplays, acting, and dancing—poorly of course.
