What they say: Reagan Landry is months away from college graduation, but instead of excitement, she's frozen by the fear of letting go — of her ex-boyfriend, of the comfortable life she created for herself in Portland, of the years-long search for her older sister who abandoned her as a homeless teen. When she’s finally forced to decide what's next, Reagan is met with another complication — her ex’s best friend, Noah Burke, who seems determined that she embraces what could be instead of what has been.
Drunkenly hooking up with his best friend’s ex, Reagan, is a mistake, but being secretly in love with her is so much worse when things seem one-sided. A disenchanted frat boy about to fail out of college, Noah has been living out someone else’s dream after a horrible accident five years earlier. Just when he thinks he's lost any chance he has with Reagan, she surprises him by agreeing to spend the summer together at his family's ranch in Montana.
And suddenly what started out as a complication between them becomes serious...until the past starts ripping apart their future.

What I say: Anything More Than Now is a story about missed opportunities, second chances and what should or might have been.
I had always thought of Reagan as the 'other girl', an obstacle between Beau and Mati, so it was nice to see her in her own right, to see past her ice queen persona. I have to admit she didn't totally win me over and there were times I wondered what Noah could possibly see in her (apart from the obvious). BUT once I understood more about why she's so guarded and closed off I did start to find myself softening towards her spiky outer persona.
Noah charmed me far quicker than Reagan - I really wanted her to give him a chance and to tone the bitchiness down (yes, I know it's mostly a front).
Reagan and Noah both have troubling pasts (don't worry no spoilers) and I wasn't sure what to make about certain revelations. Noah finds the perfect way to escape his past and has to learn to own his skill and accept the chances he's given.
The story did feel a little awkward at times and I cannot quite work out why. I think it was largely down to Reagan's abrasiveness and the pacing. It was an interesting switch up to have the tattooed bad boy secretly pining for the unobtainable girl. If they're going to have any chance of being anything more than acquaintances with benefits they need to deal with the Beau shipped elephant in the room.
I liked their story and did find myself hoping they'd work out how to be happy together...
I kept changing my mind rating this one but went for...
3.5 Stars in my Sky!
