I Love Marked Men - Rowdy Blog Tour & Review

Rowdy (Marked Men #5)
by Jay Crownover

 New Adult Contemporary Romance
Coming Oct 21st by HarperCollins

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling Marked Men series continues with this sizzling, sexy story of love, heartbreak, fate, and second chances.

After the only girl he ever loved told him that he would never be enough, Rowdy St. James knocked the Texas dust off his boots and set out to live up to his nickname. A good ol’ boy looking for good times and good friends, Rowdy refuses to take anything too seriously, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Burned by love once, he isn’t going to let himself trust a woman again. But that’s before his new co-worker arrives, a ghost from the past who’s suddenly making him question every lesson he ever learned.

Salem Cruz grew up in house with too many rules and too little fun—a world of unhappiness she couldn’t wait to forget. But one nice thing from childhood has stayed with her; the memory of the sweet, blue-eyed boy next door who’d been head over heels in love with her little sister.
Now, fate and an old friend have brought her and Rowdy together, and Salem is determined to show him that once upon a time he picked the wrong sister. A mission that is working perfectly—until the one person that ties them together appears, threatening to tear them apart for good.

And don’t miss the previous books in The Marked Men Series!

Author Spotlight:

Jay Crownover is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men series. She will also be introducing the dark and sexy world of The Point in a new series this summer starting with Better When He’s Bad. Like her characters, she is a big fan of tattoos. She loves music and wishes she could be a rock star, but since she has no aptitude for singing or instrument playing, she'll settle for writing stories with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. She lives in Colorado with her three dogs.

I received a copy in exchange for am honest review!

What I say (review): One of the thing's I love most about Jay Crownover's Marked Men series (there are many) is how her characters are all extremely loyal to each other and they embrace all types of people. Her characters are never perfect yet they are all accepting and supportive. Most of the characters are marked on both the outside with their awesome tattoos but also on the inside from their experiences. They're marked by the lessons they've learnt and the things they've seen. What I love is that however bad things get, Jay's always look after and support each other.

I seem to say this with every new Marked Men book, but I think Rowdy was my favourite. Rowdy has been something of a mystery until now and I appreciated how Jay made us wait to get to know him because it added to his intrigue. When we learn more about Rowdy's past I found myself crying at what he'd been through. I desperately hoped he'd realise how much he matters to those who love him.

We got a little sneaky glance of Salem at the end of Nash, and as well as being one of my favourite character introductions ever, I was intrigued by her instant sass! Salem's back story is interesting and sad, but in a very different way to Rowdy's. When something particularly horrible happened I wanted to hit something. But even with her sass and hidden vulnerability Salem handles it all far better than I ever could.

The two of them together actually made me blush and swoon at the same time - quite an accomplishment. Holy chemistry batman!! I loved how they argued, danced around each other and er...made up. Their banter was off the chart and I think Salem had some of the best one-liners throughout the entire series!

Do we get to see some of our old fav's? Well I'm not going to spoil it for you but I will point out that certain events I had imagined happened, whilst there were several events which I most definitely didn't see coming. I'm looking forward to a certain southern charmer's story up next...
