Mine by Katy Evans Review

What they say: He's mine, and I'm his. Our love is all-consuming, powerful, imperfect, and real...

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington "Riptide" Tate as vital as the air he breathes... and now he can't live without her.

Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman's dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, she is torn away from his side. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

Mine is book #2 in the Real series by Katy Evans

  • Mine was published as an eBook on November 2013 by Gallery Books

What I say: I really enjoyed Real even though I was in two minds about the obsessive love between Brooke and Remy (I couldn't decide whether I loved it or thought it was toxic) - I hoped that Mine would help me make up my mind about the pair.

Brooke grew on me in Mine because I could understand her fears more. She tried hard to be supportive and be a positive addition to Remy's life, rather than his weakness (I'll let you make up your own minds about whether or not she succeeded). Given her emotional state, situation and Remy's history I could sympathise with Brooke's fears far more in Mine than I did in Real. I'm not sure I could cope with dating a guy who had been with THAT many women.

It was brill to get a greater insight into Remy's past and his illness. It was heartbreaking to see him struggle and how his team dealt with him when he went 'black' or 'dark'. Under all of Remy's dominant alpha tendencies he's really caring. I felt the overall message of the book was really positive; above everything Remy just wants to be loved (grr his parents are hideous).

I don't want to spoil any of the story for you so I'll avoid talking about specific events, but I will say there are a LOT of sexy times and smutty moments in Mine; Brooke and Remy have a really intense and hot relationship. I enjoyed Mine and found their relationship more romantic and endearing than in book one. Roll of Remy's POV in his special novella Remy.

4 Stars in my Sky!

My fav non-spoilery quotes:
  • "I just want to cuddle with my Lion and give him all the love nobody in the world has given him but me."
  • "Kick and claw all you like. Scream. Hit me. Curse the f*ck out of me. You won't sleep anywhere but with me tonight."
  • "You are going to love me until I die. I’m going to make you love me even if it hurts, and when it hurts, I’m going to make it better, Brooke."
