ARC Review: Tangling with the CEO by Annie Seaton

Tangling with the CEO: A Half Moon Bay Novel

What they say: Mixing business with pleasure never felt so right.

Blake Buchanan and Anastasia Delaney were roommates in college and could never see eye to eye about anything. The only time their walls came down was during one night of passion before Ana left without a word, never expecting to cross paths with Blake again.

Years later, Blake has made his millions. He comes back to Ana’s small California town to manage a corporate takeover that will close down the home restoration business she’s poured her heart and soul into. The fiery Ana is determined to convince money-minded Blake of her business’s worth, but when a family emergency throws them together, their walls come tumbling down once again…

Problem is, Blake’s business-first position hasn’t changed. And Ana can’t fall for the man who could become her boss—it’s not only her job at stake, but her heart.

I received a copy from Entangled Bliss in exchange for an honest review!

What I say (review): I'm always drawn to a story involving missed opportunities and Tangling with the CEO definitely fits in with this.

I saw the name Anastasia 'Ana' and was expecting another 50 Shades wanna-be, thankfully Annie Seaton's book is absolutely nothing like EL James's book!

Ana and Blake were housemates at Uni and haven't seen each other for ten years.  At Uni they argued (and flirted) until one night after which Ana was drawn away and didn't expect to see Blake again. Ana was very carefree at Uni and her hippie ideals didn't seem to fit in with Blake's reserved nature and corporate dreams.

I laughed a lot reading the book and really wanted them to get their act together. Annie Seaton's message seems to be about not judging people and listening to other people's POV. Tangling with the CEO is full of misunderstandings and mishaps. There were lots of "just tell him!" moments which I enjoyed. I kept hoping Blake was going to take a chance (you'll see what I mean when you read the book).

My favourite parts involved Blake's niece and nephews; Maddy was hilarious! It's a cute and sentimental story which is free from smut.

4 Stars in my Sky!
