Review: Trust In Me by J. Lynn

What they say: It’s Wait for You as you’ve never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam’s side of the #1 New York Times Bestselling story.

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

What I say: I really enjoyed Avery and Cam's story in Wait For You and was extremely excited when I heard Jennifer had written a companion novella told from Cam's POV.

Trust In Me retells the story from Wait For You but with the added bonus of Cam's voice. Jennifer has also refreshed the story by adding extra scenes and extended others. I won't rehash the plot as I reviewed it the first time round with Avery's story (you can read my review of Wait For You here). It was an extra special treat getting an insight into Cam's head!

Cameron Hamilton is a firm staple in my book boyfriend list because he encompasses pretty much everything a good male lead should to rock a new adult story. He's hot, caring, witty, bakes (hmm cookies), has a super cool pet/sidekick in Raphael and is uber patient.

Trust In Me reiterated just how charming Cam is. He literally waits months to gain Avery's trust and sticks by her even when she puts him through the ringer. I've just realised my review has turned into a Cam-love-athon, but there is a more serious side. We get to see how Cam deals with Avery's problems and how he faces a constant battle to deal with his own past!

A great novella and I loved the extra scenes. It was a toss up between what I appreciated the most; more Cam or more Raphael the turtle/tortoise!?

4 Stars in my Sky!

My fav non-spoilery quotes:

  • "He's molesting my tortoise."
  • My hands curled around my knees as Avery laughed again. What the f***? Jealousy - red-hot, ugly jealousy - hit my veins.
  • Jase and Ollie didn't notice because they were busy arguing over whether or not it was animal cruelty to tie a ball of yarn around Raphael's shell.
  • With Avery, it was like trying to hit on a nun. And not a naughty nun.
