What they say: Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

What I say: For me, Opposition was one big Jennifer L. Armentrout, Luxen & Daemon Black fangirl party - I loved it! It's always bittersweet when a series comes to an end, but with Opposition this was even truer because I've been obsessed with these books from the very beginning!

Opposition picks up from THAT ending in Origin. Once again we get both Katy and Daemon's POV (Daemon's mind is a wonderful, snarky and dirty place). Plus I LOVE Katy! She annoyed me a little in Origin but totally redeemed herself in Opposition. She's strong, fierce and kinda bad ass. She's not prepared to go back to the place where she's left on the outside when it comes to Daemon and the Luxen and stands up for herself.

A LOT happens in the conclusion to JLA's Lux series. I'm not going to spoil anything as I'm still annoyed over the Twitter based spoilers I saw pre-reading the book. The drama and action is high but so is the romance. The story is sexier than the previous instalments (woo hoo!). This makes sense because the characters are older, and if the movie Independence Day taught me anything, then nothing is sexier than an alien invasion, right?! Kidding! Joking aside, the romance and flirting is right up there. We get to see both the good and the bad aspects of teen romance.

I expected certain outcomes but others I was completely surprised by.  I love JLA's writing because she does snark and wit really well. I was slightly worried that with the impending end of the world we may not get to see Daemon's classic one-liners, Katy's inner (and outer) geek or Dee's enthusiasm, but thankfully Opposition is just as funny, witty and smutty as the previous books, but it has the added bonus of increased drama.

I wasn't entirely sure how I wanted the series to end but I'm happy with the direction JLA took the series. I would have liked a slightly longer conclusion as certain events seemed a bit quick, but tbh I'm just greedy when it comes to Katy and Daemon! It was good to see old fav's and enemies return. Also I'm holding out hope that a certain teenage origin may get his own spin-off series, but for the moment it's time to say goodbye to our fav aliens *hides in corner and cries*!!

4 - 4.5 Stars in my Sky!
