Iris Review

Iris - The Wild Side #2
by R.K. Lilley

What they say: ARE YOU READY FOR A TWIST?

Who is Iris? Where did she come from? Where has she gone?

Alasdair Masters has more questions than answers about his new, too young obsession, and when he finds out she’s been lying to him, from their first meeting to their last one, he’s more confused than ever about her feelings, her intentions.

And what’s just as confusing are his own feelings. Has he turned something purely physical into something emotional in his own head? Is any of it mutual?

The only thing he doesn’t question is whether he’ll keep going back for more.

DAIR
Me, I was simple. I was order. A very neat, efficient machine that ran on nothing but air.

Me plus anyone else, well, that was another matter. And me plus Iris, that was a monster of a machine, with all gears going at different speeds, some spinning off their hinges, just going mad, but it was a wonderful madness, at full throttle, misfiring in all directions.

It felt wonderful and dreadful.
I was breaking down, and it felt amazing.
And terrifying.

This book is intended for readers 18 and up.

What I say: The story picks up a couple of months after the end of The Wild Side. Dair is still pretty obsessed with Iris; she's been gone and he wants answers - ME TOO!

As with all R.K. Lilley books the action is hot and steamy (it's defo an adult book) but the mystery element really adds to the intrigue and I really freaking wanted know who Iris is and what her BIG secret was (I had my suspicions are there are definitely a few hints and clues along the way, some of which I missed until I remembered them reading Dair).

I liked Dair and wanted him to stand up to Iris a bit more, to demand answers from her. He wants the truth but she's an expert in avoidance and has MANY naughty ways to distract him.

I actually read Iris a while ago and a part of me wishes I had waited for Dair (the final instalment) to be released before reading Iris because it meant I still had to wait for answers (I have since finished Dair too). The good news is that Dair is out now so you can purchase it straight away. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed Iris and we do get a few hints and revelations about the mysterious young lady, but we also end up with even more questionsThere is another cliffy at the end of Iris, so be warned but as I said you can buy Dair straight away to find out what happens! :)
