What they say: Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

What I say: I was pretty late to the party in terms of reading Tangled - because of the hype I was expecting a lot from Emma Chase and her characters.

Tangled is told from Drew's POV, and let's just say he doesn't hold anything back! He's smutty, hot and hilarious. I found Drew's POV a refreshing change because it never sounds like a woman writing as a man. On the surface Drew's your typical spoilt rich guy; he sleeps around with the endless supply of woman who constantly fall at his feet, he's loaded and handsome. Drew doesn't do love and spends his down time with his friends charming women into bed before moving on to the next one. He's always honest and upfront about his lack of commitment and I found his POV here hilarious. His explanations and one-liners were great.

When Kate walks into his life he goes through various stages/processes which were both infuriating, charming and sad. He goes from wanting her in his bed, to wanting her out when his territory at work is threatened. He slowly wants more and goes all out to keep her, with often disastrous consequences.

Kate is fab! She meets him head on and their banter is great. I love how she stood up to him and kept him in line. Be warned there is a sort of love triangle - some of my fav scenes involved Drew's sniping at or moping about Kate having a boyfriend.

Tangled is hot! And Drew is the king of smut. If you are easily offended by sexual innuendos then this story is definitely not for you. I laughed my way through the story and whenever Drew would mess up I wanted to smack him. I would have liked a little more character development and more about Kate because the ending was a bit quick. In general I really liked Tangled and Drew won me over with his dirty mouth and mind!

4 Stars in my Sky!
