SMOLDER
by Karen Ericsson
On sale 21st June
Lane Gallagher wants Delilah Moore—bad.
He’s imagined the sexy brunette in his bed more times than he can count.
She’s everything he’s ever wanted, but the only problem is . . .
She’s his brother’s ex.
For years, the stoic sheriff’s deputy has fantasized about the sweet, bubbly dance teacher who stirs his deepest desires. But Lane’s too loyal to ever move in on forbidden territory and he knows that while he can look, he definitely can’t touch. Fighting his attraction to Delilah is nearly impossible, but the infuriating—and incredibly sexy—woman seems determined to drive him crazy.
And she’s bringing him to his knees. One smoldering kiss at a time.

I received a copy from the publisher Avon in exchange for an honest review!
What I say: Delilah's and Lane's story is the perfect tonic for a rainy afternoon. I enjoyed the banter and back-and-forth between the two, although they did drive me potty at times with the will-they-won't-they - I'm placing the blame for this squarely at Lane's feet!
Smolder is the second in Karen Ericsson's Wildwood series but it works as a standalone. Delilah has had a thing for her ex's brother for years, but much to her disgust, Lane constantly fights their attraction.
I liked their fiesty romance and although I have read several similar stories, I liked the idea and could almost look past Lane's infuriating hesitation. The man really does like to push Delilah away and then pull her back; I'm surprised she didn't get whiplash.
The book is naughty and detailed, so be prepared to blush. As is often the case with adult contemporary romances, the events happen rather quickly. I would have liked to see greater character development because I felt that certain topics were only touched upon, but within the scope of the story I liked them together.
3.5 Stars in my Sky!
