What I say: With a plethora of MC stories readily available its pretty difficult to find something different but Laura Kaye has a pretty good go with Ride Hard.
Kaye's Raven Rider's are less focused on the usual illegal activities and are more about founding a safe place for not only their friends and family, but also for those who really need it. It is a biker book, so we do get lots of the usual alpha badassery and potentially criminal deals, but it's not the sole focus.
Haven and her kick ass bestie, Cora, are on the run from Haven's hideous father and his evil empire (he's more godfather than Doctor Evil though) when they find themselves under the protection of Dare and the Raven Rider's.
Laura Kaye's unique style is all over Dare and Haven so I couldn't help comparing them to past couples. Their story is intense, difficult and sometimes controversial, but I appreciated the rawness of their individual stories and issues.
Before you go thinking this is a 'soft' MC story, then let me assure you it really isn't. The action is intense and naughty. Alpha alert!! I wasn't always entirely on board with all of Dare's more dominant bossy tendencies but I did like their chemistry.
Ride Hard is a biker romance with heart and a deeper message, and of course, a whole load of naughtiness.
