What I say: Incubus is a solid opening to Rachel Bateman's new series. It's short (novella length) and sets the scene surrounding the mystery in teenager Kyle's life (I'd never heard of Kyle being a girls name until now).

Incubus is a paranormal mystery; a killer is stalking and killing women and Kyle is being stalked by a mystery man in her dreams. Kyle is starting to notice certain similarities and coincidences between the murders, her dreams and her life.

There are a lot of questions surrounding the murdered women and the killer, which alongside the paranormal aspects, I'm hoping will be developed over the series.
