I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review!
What I say: I enjoyed the romance, drama and flirty banter between Jack and Sophie in My Once and Future Duke.
The book is full of charming dalliances and unexpected chemistry.
Jack spends his time being respectable by trying to reign in his younger irresponsible brother's gambling and spending habits. When he observes his brother's attachment to Sophie he holds her responsible for his outrageous gaming debts and sets out to teach her a lesson. He comes up with a bet she cannot refuse.
Sophie is determined to make her own way by earning enough money to make a respectable marriage and find safety out of the spotlight. She's found an entertaining way to supplement her income without loosing her reputation, that is until she meets her match in the Duke of Ware.
Their interactions are fun and hilarious. I loved watching them trying to outfox each other, only to have their plans scuppered and having to regroup.
I'd love to have been able to hang out at the Vega club with Sophie and to teach the society gents a thing or too.
A cute and dramatic historical romance.
4 Stars in my Sky!
