Meet Ben and Lizzy!

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man she's ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he's always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

*Note* I purchased Deep upon release but decided to include my review with my tour stop :)

What I say: I've been looking forward to Deep for what seems like ages now, but as the final instalment in Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series it was always going to be bittersweet. I'm sad we have to say goodbye to our fav guys and gals, but hurrah for the spin-off! The good news is the series goes out with one hell of a bang (pun not intended) as Lizzy and Ben take us on an epic and complicated journey.

In a quick as-spoiler-free-as-possible recap: Lizzy is Anne's younger sister, who has been drawn to the band's bassist, Ben, from their first meeting. Ben likes to keep matters free and simple, he doesn't want to be tied down and knows that as Mal's future sister-in-law, Lizzy is way off limits. She's also far too young for him and is a complication he doesn't need, except he really kinda wants!
I loved Lizzy and Ben's relationship and how they developed a friendship that was for themselves and outside of the others. Lizzy's POV and her lusty Ben-related-thoughts had me in hysterics - I freaking loved her!!
Ben hasn't featured too heavily in previous books. I have to admit I really didn't like him after the David-Ev-Martha saga but he slowly redeemed himself, and over the past few books I softened towards him (and his beard). There were a few *ahem* a lot of moments in Deep where I wanted to shake some sense into him. With the destruction and drama he's seen from his family and bandmates I could totally understand his reticence and reservations.
I think it's pretty clear from the blurb that they have an 'incident' which results in an unplanned pregnancy. The book deals with Lizzy's pregnancy and how they, and the others, come to terms with their new situation - the reactions and consequences range from hilarious and ridiculous, to traumatic and stunned. I wasn't expecting Mal's reaction but I SO understood why.

There are some HOT scenes mixed in with some really sweet moments. It was nice to catch up with the other couples; and what a revelation Jimmy turned out to be *swoon*!

The ending was fairly short and being a Stage Dive Groupie I would have greedily loved a longer conclusion. I wanted more details of what happens next for certain characters, but in the same way I appreciated the slightly open ending and how the spin-off series was set up nicely.

As much as I love all the band and their leading ladies, I don't think anybody will ever be able to replace Mal for me. Every time he opens his mouth we're in for a treat - he's just so unpredictable. Another Mal book would be great. Perhaps a Mal and Killer story where they have to survive a few days without Anne - imagine the one-liners Mal would have with an entire story speaking just to himself and Killer?

A fab conclusion to an amazing series and I'm sad it's over. Give me Vaughn now!!!

“C’mon. How have you been, really? What’s been going on with you?” he pushed. I frowned at him and he frowned right back. “Liz, please.”
I groaned in defeat. “All right, I suck.”
“Why do you suck?”
“So very many reasons.” I pushed my hair back from my face—no more hiding. “Pregnancy sucks. It’s natural, my ass. I finally stop throwing up, but I’m tired all the time. Giving up coffee was horrendous. None of my clothes fit right because of these stupid breasts, and they ache constantly. I have to pee like every thirty seconds, and then to top it off, I cry every time the Healthy Hound ad comes on. It’s ridiculous”
Little wrinkles appeared either side of his nose. “You cry at a dog food ad?”
“Yes. The puppies jump all over each other to get to their mother and it’s just so beautiful, with their cute little tails wagging and everything.”
He just stared at me.
“I know its psycho, Ben. Believe me, I’m well aware of this.”
“Hey, it’s fine.” He covered a smile with his hand. Too late, the bastard.
“You try dealing with all these hormones going apeshit. Crap. Apeshoot.”
“I’m trying not to swear,” I explained. “You want the first word our child comes out with to be something bad?”
“No. Gotcha.” The man was incredibly bad at hiding a grin. “No swearing.”
