Spotlight - The Moonfire Bride

The Moonfire Bride - Of Candlelight and Shadows #1
by Sylvia Mercedes

What they say: Perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses and The Cruel Prince, this tale of a human girl stolen to be the bride of a doomed fae lord is irresistibly romantic!

Hers is a life without magic or romance. Until the night he whispers her name.

For years, Valera has worked weary hours as a seamstress just to keep food on the table. She would give her all to protect her little sister from the cruelties of the world . . . and the tantalizing lure of the fae forest. One day, she fears, the fae will spirit her sister away, and how can Valera hope to stop them?

Then the fae come. Not for her sister . . . but for her.

Trapped in a magnificent palace far from her own world, Valera finds herself the unwilling bride of an enigmatic fae lord. He claims he won’t harm her and vows to return her home after a year and a day if she honors one rule: she must never see his face.

Determined to return to her sister at all costs, Valera struggles to unravel the mystery of her so-called husband. Why does he so desperately need a wife? And why her specifically? Torn between love, duty, and the unexpected freedom she finds in this strange new world, Valera must fight to find her place.

But will a burgeoning passion for the unseen figure in the shadows be her undoing?

The Moonfire Bride is book one of a two-part fae romance inspired by the myth of “Hades and Persephone” as well as “Eros and Psyche.” Read today if you’re craving a dark, swoon-worthy hero and a sweet, slow-burn romance with just a touch of steam!

Current Sunny Reading Spots

I love being outside when it's sunny, so for me warm weather = finding a lovely sunny reading spot and relaxing with a glass of wine, an ice-cream or a pretty cocktail or two.

My current fav spots include but are not limited to my garden, our local beach (and beach hut) and a few lovely spots I found around the Champneys Henlow estate. Including the goreous glass house aka conservatory, which btw is as HUGE as it is beautiful, and sprawling on the extremely comfy sun loungers (oh the superlatives) before getting a relaxing massage!

Sunny Reading Spots

For me warm weather means finding a lovely sunny reading spot and relaxing with a glass of wine, yummy coffee or a pretty cocktail or two.

Having just returned from holiday in Spain I won't be off anywhere exotic any time soon so my reading spots are limited to the garden, local beach, parks and a beer garden or two.

Here's my current inspiration...

ARCs and a picnic in the park:

Reading Spots

All the Bookish Things

I don't know about you but I love to find a comfy spot to snuggle down to read exciting new books & of course my old favourites?!

I've been on the hunt for a special reading chair for a while now and decided to splurge on this beauty as soon as I saw it...

It cost me a fortune, is basically too large for my room and is a totally random mixture of granny chic and modern kitsch but I freaking love it - It's an awesome reading spot.

Do you have a fav reading chair, snug or spot? Share your pics and I'll add them to the board.
